as the US awaits the 2nd series of the ricky gervais comedy extras, the UK is already 5 episodes deep into the new season.

this time around, perennial extra andy millman (played by the amazing ricky gervais) finally gets his wish of being a star when the bbc commissions his idea into a full fledged comedy. the snag is that even though the show is a hit, andy is by no means happier with himself or the work he's doing. of course sidekick maggie (ashley jensen who's now on ugly betty as betty's best friend) has no clue about his woes and she continues to trudge through life as an extra.

this season also increases the role of andy's agent (the hilarious stephen merchant who is also the shows co-cretor) and a few other characters, making andy's life even more miserable.
