f**ked up rocker pete doherty crosses the line

within the rock world, pete doherty is notorious for being a creative genius, a fashion muse (look at every pseudo rocker in the east village/williamsburg these days) and a more notoriously, a total crackhead user. like a complete train wreck, pete became an even larger celebrity since he started dating his on again, off again supermodel 'friend' kate moss.

after being kicked out of his original band the libertines (for allegedly breaking into his lead guitarists apt, 'borrowing' items to sell for drugs), pete formed babyshambles to the excitement of his loyal fans.

it's his connection to his fans that may be the last straw between him and the law. last week, british tabloid the sun printed a photo of pete injecting heroin into a comatose fan.

Rock musician Pete Doherty has been released on police bail after being questioned over pictures showing the singer allegedly injecting a drug into an unconscious girl's arm.

The Babyshambles frontman was arrested on a street in east London yesterday morning.

A Scotland Yard spokesman today said he was released on bail to return on a date in July pending further inquiries.

Police began their investigation after seeing the image of Doherty, published in The Sun newspaper, holding a syringe as a female fan lies apparently unconscious on a kitchen floor.

The Sun said the photograph was taken at Doherty's home in Hackney, east London, within the past five weeks.

Another picture shows Doherty jabbing a needle into his tattooed forearm.

They also published a picture of supermodel Kate Moss, 32, who they claimed has been secretly seeing Doherty despite their apparent public split.

Yesterday police said a 27-year-old had been arrested at 8am on a street in east London on suspicion of administering a noxious substance recklessly.

mad isn't it? (i'm sure the pics were sold by a user 'friend') is it all over for pete? it's sad and pathetic really.
