pink returns with the funny new video!

just this week, the new mrs corey hart, aka pink, released the first video "stupid girl" from her upcoming album i'm not dead.

poking fun at paris hilton, lindsay lohan and jessica simpson, 'stupid girl' is just one of the themes that pink taps into. calling this her most personal album to date, pink also wrote and produced all the tracks on her 4th studio album.

it looks like a good start. to watch it check it out on aol first listen or if you wanna download the new video, click here (thanks to the wonderful peeps at popsugar).

i'm a bit late with this, but what a stupid ass song by k-fed

this is so not my kind of thing - britney/kfed bashing, but i finally heard the single and it's pretty darn bad. heck, it makes vanilla ice sound good. the song is called 'popozao' which is portugese for 'k-fed you stupid ass m**ther f**ker, what kind of a song title is that? go back to your day job of being a white trash moocher.'

ugh!

UPN + WB (RIP) = CW

in a shocking announcement today, CBS corp daddy les moonves talked of the formation of a new channel called CW in place of fledgling networks WB and UPN. merging the content of the two stations into what they hope to be competitive programming against the big 4 (ABC/CBS/FOX/NBC) CW will be a 50/50 partnership with warner bros and CBS. as to which shows will be pushed aside in the merger only time will tell as they make announcements in may.

this sounds promising, but i just have to ask...CW? who agreed on that name?

geisha luv you long time (yes i've just discovered youtube)

looks like both SNL and MadTV are utilizing youtube to promote their funnier sketches.
this silly one features my favorite comic bobby lee making fun at the overly campy memoirs of a geisha. "it haaaard!"

whaaat? a funny skit on SNL? you have to see it to believe it!

resident SNL hardcore rapper chris parnell and newbie andy samberg may have something goin here. for the first time in ages, people are talking about a sketch created from this show. does this mean you should start watching SNL again, probably not.

of course it helps that you live in NYC but i think for most of you, the cute factor will be enough.

may i present, the chronic of narnia rap aka the chronic-what!-cles of narnia.

when it's cold outside, what do you do? BUY COOL T-SHIRTS!

i don't know about you, but i've been obsessed with t-shirts lately. maybe because of the amazing designs that have been popping up on everyone's chests (design envy) or the fact that it's the cheapest form of acquiring personalized style without breaking the bank. even more amazing is the fact that online sites are popping up all over the place with great affordable prices!

with that in mind, here are three suggestions for places to check out.

fresh cotton is a dutch company that carries up to 40 different brands from all over the world. i'm in love with the hot netherlands brand featured here (t's 3-6) called ontour.

if the pricing of fresh cotton is a tad too much for you, check out the online t-shirt site threadless where t's never go beyond $15 AND has a continuous roster of limited edition shirts for sale (t's 1-2). i already own way too many for my own good (including the ones featured)!

finally, if you're asian and you're looking for something fun AND with a minority slant, check out the LA based blacklava, where asian pride is all over their tongue 'n' cheek designs (t's 7-8). my choice from this site, 'i suck at math'!

so while the world is freezing up outside, what better to show off your fun t's when you strip down indoors. c'mon, you know you wanna....

re-buzz 2006 : battlestar galactica

easily one of the best shows on TV, battlestar galactica returns this month to scifi (and an ipod downloadable version) with even more exciting twists and turns to keep you hooked by tooth and nail.

to those who have yet to be convinced how a show about a dwindling human fleet trying to find a new home on a legendary planet called earth could be amazing, well... you just gotta watch.

though there is the constant threat of battling the cyber enemy, what makes this show completely watchable is it's sparse pacing. within all the space of it's storytelling, battlestar galactica unfolds as a brilliant internal drama between the military, the civilians and a few cylons (disguised as human) thrown in. the end result is a show filled with grey decisions, power struggles, sexual tension and constant unease.

luckily for you, the dvd's of the previous seasons have been rushed out so you can start from the beginning. for the rest of us already hooked, battlestar offers a very smart alternative to much of the mediocre tv out there.

buzz 2006: hostel

is it just me, or is this one of the gayest ad campaigns you've seen? i love it!

one of the goriest scary movie that you will see in ages (and #11 in my best films of 2005 list) gets a quiet january release in the US (perhaps banking on the complete lack of fun group-orientated film fare during the oscar season).

but don't let it's graveyard release fool you, hostel takes you by the balls and works on castrating them with serious gross out tactics that i haven't seen in ages. not only that but films' dark and thought out funny tone makes this more than a splatter inducing 90 minutes.

directed by eli roth (cabin fever) and presented by quentin tarantino, hostel follows three backpackers (two from the US and one from sweden) as they head off to a town deep in the czech republic where the babes are not only hot, but extremely easy with backpackers. with sex on their minds, the three end up at the charming town of Bratislavan where they immediately hook up with some model type girls. unfortunately the next morning, one of them disappears inexplicably... so beginning their trip of horror.

i'm not gonna spoil anything, but when the film kicks in, it just pushes everything to levels of japan horror edges (including a cameo by japan horror meister takashi miike) . hostel marks a brave new world for american horror and i'm totally impressed that eli roth is the one to spearhead it.
